Casa de la Cultura

During the San Marcos Fair there are plenty of activities; especially concerts. Check them out!

After its construction in the early twentieth century the Casa de la Cultura was the home of Doña Jacinta de Ortega for 54 years.

It was later donated to the church and was used as a convent until 1886, when it became the Seminary College of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Over the years it had a range of uses and functions, until 1967 when it became what it is today – The Cultural Institute of Aguascalientes.

It currently offers several spaces for the city’s cultural development and participates in major cultural events, such as the San Marcos National Fair and the Day of the Day Festival de Calaveras. Check the program for details.
