El Rey del Duro
We recommend a window seat. While savoring delicious tapas, enjoy views of the city.
The restaurant is located in one of the city’s most attractive areas, and is the ideal place to enjoy traditional Aguascalientes dishes and regional tapas.
Duro means pork rinds or crackling and in other parts of Mexico it is known as chicharrón. It is so tasty it is one of the most popular tapas in general, but no-one makes it quite like ‘El Rey del Duro’ – the King of Crackling. It all started with don David Gallegos de León in 1965. He started selling this typical tapa from a cart as he went around the streets of Aguascalientes. The special flavor and the spicy sauce made him ‘The King of Crackling’.
The restaurant is located next to the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary
