Located in the town of Jesús María, just fifteen minutes from Aguascalientes, is Hacienda el Chichimeco, built in the eighteenth century.
The Hacienda is renowned for raising bulls for the bullfight and this where the Armallita Brothers’ Cattle Ranch started up in 1934; it is one of the major cattle ranches in the state.
The main building is la Casa Grande (the Big House), built in 1770, but there are also corrals, stables and barns which serve as granaries where cereals, legumes and other agricultural products were stored in sacks or loose.
Fermín Espinosa “Armillita”, renowned bullfighter from Coahuila, was one those who ran the hacienda and after his death his sons Miguel and Fermín Espinosa Menéndez took over.
