Don’t forget to see the niche with the image of the Virgin Mary, fervently venerated by the local population.

This beautiful neo-classical building made from pink quarry stone is next to the highway from where you can see its brilliant white dome with eight amazing stained-glass windows.

It was built in the nineteenth century and above the facade there are four neo-classical belfries.

Inside there is a transept, an altar, and  four columns covered in lines of gilded leaves, as well as richly-decorated green walls.

On the fourth of July there are festivities in honor of the Virgin of Refuge, the town’s patron saint, including a novena, pilgrimages and several other religious events.
