Teatro Aguascalientes

One unmissable folk-dancing show during the San Marcos Fair is the ‘Ferial de Aguascalientes’, performed by the State Dance Company.

This superb venue opened its doors with a performance of The Zarzuela Anthology, directed by José Tamayo.

The theater’s modernist style was designed by the architect Abraham Zabludovsky, and has an Italianate stage with a band shell, plywood floor and orchestra pit.

The theater was opened on October 3, 1991 and holds 1,650 spectators in its three sections – the stalls, dress circle and six stage boxes. It hosts all kinds of events, including opera, music, dance, children’s shows, festivals and conferences.

The Aguascalientes Symphony Orchestra performs here at 9 p.m. every Friday. Get your ears ready for a treat!
