Túneles y Pinacoteca

Under the Bethlehem Parish Church there are three tunnels, with an average length of sixty meters and containing water tanks and human remains.

The church is also home to Asientos Art Gallery, an artistic jewel displaying paintings and tableaus, including colonial-period works by the painter Miguel Cabrera.

The gallery’s impressive collection includes The Circumcision of Baby Jesus, the only one in Latin America, and the depiction of the Baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan, which presents some optical illusions. Some of the paintings date from the eighteenth century.
